CITIZENS COUNCILS OF MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA IN HUMANITARIAN MISSION Palilula Municipality of Nis, provided about 8 cubic meters of firewood to vulnerable families in the village of Pasi Poljana, within the socio-humanitarian activities and cooperation with "Gorica". In the presence of Ivica Stojanovic, member of Palilula municipal council, Milivoje Milic, president of the citizens council of the village Pasi Poljana, presented the first amount of firewood to Stojan Dimitrijevic, and three other families will also receive aid, one of which is from the Roma minority group. There is activity of the Council in progress to collect data on the most vulnerable households in the village, in order that the Red Cross could provide humanitarian packages with basic food. As announced by the Municipality President Boban Džunić, the division of the packages, in all fifteen settlements in the rural area of Palilula, is ready to commence on 19th of November. Until then, there is a difficult and responsible work of all members of the Citizens Council, in order that this campaign could have real resonance. In Municipality of Palilula lives more than 90,000 inhabitants. Only in Pasi Poljana , according to the latest census of 2011 , there were 2,892 people and 923 households. Various project activities , mainly with the support of the EU and cross-border cooperation program Serbia - Bulgaria , Municipality of Palilula efforts to improve the quality of life of its residents. Earlier this year , the outpost of the elementary school , "Kralj Petar" in Pasi Poljana, in partnership with the municipality Botevgrad in Bulgaria, there were sports facilities built. It is expected that this investment, worth around 230,000 euros, connects young people of the two countries and provide better conditions for sports and recreational activities for youth of all ages of the population.
